One-on-One Private Tutoring
Reading Program for Adults & Youth

Work one-on-one with a trained reading tutor to improve your reading skills. Discretion and your privacy are assured so that you will build skill and confidence as you strive to reach your reading goals. This service is offered free of charge to individuals who are eligible.

Parent-Child Mother GooseProgram
10 week family reading program for children ages 0-3

The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program is a weekly one-hour gathering of parents and toddlers to share the joys of language through nursery rhymes, songs, stories and games. This program is offered free of charge

Homework Support for Kids and Training for Parents

We partner with our local Community Learning Centres (CLC's) to offer training workshops to parents for homework and reading support.

Youth and Peer Tutoring

We train young people from the local high schools and CEGEP to become effective peer tutors to support those students in need of help. These young tutors volunteer at their school to work on reading, writing and math with those fellow students who are at risk, and help them to stay in school.

Support for Seniors Program

We partner with the Adult Activity and Respite Centre AARC and RAPID (Resources for the Anglophone Population with Intellectual Disabilities) to improve the educational content of activities for seniors and the intellectually handicapped in our neighbourhood.

NEW! iPAD PROJECT - 10 week session
AARC, at 83 Churchill blvd., Greenfield Park (corner Hubert Street) view map
RAPID and AARC will use the iPADS with the help of friendly volunteers to enrich the activities on Saturdays from February – May 2017.

Read Out Loud to Kids - Library Program

Geared mainly toward elementary level children, this new program is offered in collaboration with Wendy Mahar who is both a resource teacher and CLC representative at the St Lambert school. Interested SSRC tutors will train with Wendy for this reading in the classroom program.
